What an absolute gem this place is! It’s hidden right behind Dazaifu Tenmangu. I was very lucky to stumble into it. The place is run by the sweetest ladies. I ordered iced green tea with Umegae mochi. Everything was perfect

Quaint and cozy stop for shaved ice and a cool off while exploring the Dezaifu area. We came at 10:00am so we were the only ones inside. Shaved ice was incredible!!

Ordered the seasonal kamameshi with mountain vegetables. The flavors were clean, balanced, and very traditionally Japanese. I especially enjoyed the clear soup, which was light yet full of depth—perfectly comforting. The space had a warm, nostalgic charm, and there was even a samurai headdress on display inside. While I was there, they happened to be holding a new joiner ceremony at one side of the restaurant—it was interesting to watch and added to the cultural atmosphere. A relaxing and memorable meal.

Delicious umegae Mochi. Made freshly by the owner. Matcha goes well with the mochi. It wasn’t busy when I was there. So the atmosphere was rather calm and peaceful while I had some tea time looking out at the garden.
